Overview

In this model customer will be charged based on the resources utilized and the time spent on the project.

Applicability

This model suits best to the projects which are of longer duration and project specification & scope evolve as project progresses. As a result large scale and complex projects are best suited in this engagement model.

Aim of any software project is to find a solution to a business needs/problems of the customer. This model allows software service provider to come to best possible solution for the customers business needs, as a result main stress in this model is given on providing best possible solution to the customer where requirement specifications evolve to fit the business solution.

Execution

As the start point for this model, comprehensive scenario will involve problem definition, solutions to it, business analysis, architectural designs, detailed documentation, coding, testing, extensive maintenance and support.

The effort analysis for all the elements for all the stages of the project is defined with the perspective of individual elements. Effort is charged on pre-agreed hourly rate based on quality of resources involved in the project. Mutual agreement with customer and omni-bridge needs to be maintained for change management to make sure that changes are implemented in controlled and effective fashion to reduce overall project time and cost. This process of execution is followed for every element in the project until solution is delivered to its fullest.
